Mindscape

Mindscape is a flexible counselling service for young people aged 16 and 17 who live in Stoke-on-Trent and are currently NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). This service is different from traditional counselling as we can offer a more intensive form of support in terms of the duration of sessions and where the sessions take place.

Mindscape can offer counselling at Mind's Hanley office if desired but additional to this, clients can go out with the counsellor and do alternative activities that may help them to engage in the therapeutic process. Sessions may take place in a cafe, a walk in the park, at the family home, and through other activities that may take place out in the community.

The idea behind this counselling approach is to help young people who are struggling with mental distress to engage in talking through their concerns in a place that feels safe for them to do so. Mindscape facilitates an engaging and alternative counselling experience.
